    On April 23rd, 2024, at approximately 0024 hours, Alaska State Troopers contacted 72-year-old Soldotna resident Mary Thomas for several moving violations. Subsequent investigation determined Thomas was driving under the influence. She was arrested and remanded to Wildwood Pretrial for DUI.

    Dispatch Text:

    On 4/22/24 at approximately 2050 hours Palmer AST contacted Austin Lewis, age 29 of Palmer, at a residence on Jewel St in Palmer. Lewis had an outstanding warrant for his arrest based on original charges of Misconduct Involving Weapons 4th Degree, Misconduct Involving Controlled Substances 5th Degree, and Violating Conditions of Release. Lewis was arrested without incident and remanded at Mat-Su Pretrial with $500 bail.

    On 4/23/24 AST responded to a disturbance in Wasilla. Following the investigation, Zane Ragsdale, age 31 of Wasilla, was arrested and remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial for DV related assault in the fourth degree and Criminal mischief in the fifth degree.

    On April 21st 2024, at about 2341, Troopers received a report of a Burglary with damage to a window in the area of Clarkson Drive. Upon multiple days of investigation, Eyrica Mustovich, was arrested for Criminal Mischief 3rd, Criminal Trespass 1st, and VCOR. Eyrica was remanded to FCC without incident.

    On 04/22/2024 at 2155 hours the Alaska State Troopers were called to the area of Bradway Rd. for children that were abandoned. The mother of the kids who was identified as Shalene Kavairlook pulled into the parking lot to get her kids. Troopers contacted Shalene and observed an odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from Shalene. Shalene was remanded to Fairbanks Correctional Center without incident.

    Update: April 24, 2024. Conditions at the crash site remain difficult due to thin ice and open water hindering recovery efforts. Recovery efforts by Troopers with the assistance of PAWS will resume today. The remains that have been recovered will be sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for positive identification. The NTSB is on scene and is working to determine the cause of the crash. People should continue to avoid the area.

     

    Update: April 23, 2024. At 10:03 AM on April 23, 2024, Alaska State Troopers in Fairbanks received reports of an aircraft crash around seven miles south of the Fairbanks International Airport on the Tanana River. A preliminary investigation revealed that a Douglas DC-4 crashed into the Tanana River after taking off from Fairbanks International Airport at 9:55 am with two people on board. The aircraft slid into a steep hill on the bank of the river where it caught fire. No survivors have been located. The NTSB is responding to conduct an investigation into the cause of the crash. The Alaska State Troopers, Alaska Wildlife Troopers, DPS HELO 2, University of Alaska Police, Fairbanks Airport Police and Fire, Fairbanks Police Department, Esther Volunteer Fire Department, Chena Goldstream Volunteer Fire Department, and RCC responded to the scene.

AK Wildlife Troopers

    Dispatch Text:

    On 2-21-24, at approximately 1159 hours, the Alaska Wildlife Troopers responded with the PV Arduser patrol vessel to a iPhone GPS SOS in Pigot Bay, located in the Prince William Sound, for a vessel having some sort of emergency.  The investigation revealed a Raider pleasure boat "Katahdin" with two on board, David Milner, age 65 of Sterling Alaska, and Miquelle Milner, age 63 of Sterling Alaska were having issues and had no steering, radio, navigation, or anchor power. They also had no cell phone service, and did not know what to do. They were assisted and escorted on their own power to the Whittier Harbor without incident.

    On 4/22/24 Kincaid Wilson of North Pole was contacted while sportfishing for Arctic Grayling in Badger Slough off Peede Road. Investigation revealed that Wilson was not in possession of a valid 2024 ADF&G sportfish license. Wilson was issued a citation for Sportfishing without a valid license in possession, bail was set at $200.

    On 4/18/24, Tok Wildlife Troopers cited Charlie Chenoweth III, age 49, of Juneau for failing to report hunt activity for his 2023 RM865 moose permit as required in registration hunt conditions.  Bail was set at $120 in the Tok District Court.
